10Gb/s 1550nm Intermediate Reach Optical Transponder (14TRAAI2MPL)

Finisar has developed a line of 10Gb/s Intermediate Reach (IR) transponders that incorporate all features required by the 300 PIN Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and serial Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) specification.

This line of transponders operate at 1550nm and are designed for links up to 40 kilometers.

The products include the optical transmitter and receiver, laser bias and control circuitry as well as electrical Mux/DeMux, which are 622/644/669 by 16 electrical single chip devices providing variable rate control for applications ranging from 9.953Gb/s (SONET) to 11.3Gb/s (10GE with FEC).
